Norwegian Language Services specializes in translating old family letters and documents. These texts often present challenges for the translator. Letters are often faded or torn, the handwriting may be difficult to decipher, and the language may be in a dialect. Because of these variables, there is no flat rate for translating these documents. Each translation project is evaluated individually and priced according to difficulty. Since Marte Hult particularly enjoys these projects and believes that it is important for a family to have access to such documents, the rates are usually quite reasonable.

Rates for literary texts vary depending upon the difficulty of the original. Norwegian Language Services does not accept translation of legal, medical, or advertising texts.
